American country music band The Ranchhands played to an eager audience in Giurgiu, Romania on June 28th, sharing their blend of classic country music and modern production techniques. The band had significant local appeal, drawing a large audience to Piata Tricolorului that included a wide range of ages and backgrounds. In spite of the rain, 500 people came to enjoy the open-air concert, with the crowd building up to 350 people at a given time. The audience also contained a significant number of minorities, with Roma comprising 15-20% of the crowd. The high-energy concert was well-received, with both adults and children dancing and clapping to the music. Local media was present to record and report on the concert.
The Ranchhands are a Nashville, Tennessee-based band that combines classic country music style with modern production techniques to produce new country music. Anchored by bandleader Chris Tedesco and lead singer Mickey Kennedy, the group has traveled widely, performing in sixteen countries outside the United States. The band has attracted many fans in Europe, selling out all of its 2008 Winter European Tour concerts.
